*** Accepting new clients ***

Cassidy Nigh completed a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2022. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and is working towards registration as a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta. From 2019 to 2023, Cassidy has supported individuals in her capacity as a youth worker as well as a counsellor. In her work with clients, she leads with a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy approach.

In my work with clients, I work hard to support a safe and positive environment by offering empathy, care and a calm presence. In this safe space, clients are invited to share what brings them into therapy, and in time, to explore painful or stuck areas in their life they would like to address.

I lead with a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy approach. What this means is that I listen with compassion and non-judgment for patterns in thinking and how they are linked to feelings and behaviours. I like to bring mindful awareness and curiosity to experience in order to explore past and present experiences in a deeply attuned and empathic way. By being mindful of my clients’ needs and holding these needs as priority, I respond with flexibility to what is present for my client in each session.

My ultimate goal is to provide clients with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
