About Carley

Carley is a current graduate student at City University of Seattle, where she is pursuing her Master of Counselling. She is passionate about honing her counselling skills with individuals at CRMH under the supervision of Dr. Kendell Banack.

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Carley brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus, she has been working with students and staff in an educational setting. She has specialized in socio-emotional group facilitation and restorative practices, working with children and youth.

Carley's approach is strength-based and client-centred, offering flexible and individualized support. She integrates various therapeutic techniques, including:

  Cognitive-behavioural therapy

Mindfulness

    Narrative therapy

    Emotion-focused therapy

    Non-violent and peaceful communication

These modalities help her engage clients in meaningful dialogue to get to the root of their feelings, needs and values. Carley is also working toward her animal-assisted therapist certification, which will allow her to further explore unique modalities like nature-based and experiential therapies.

Carley's goal is to build authentic connections with her clients while learning from her colleagues' extensive knowledge and wisdom.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with her husband Dave and their German Shepherd, Sophie.
